What was the last argument you had about? Do you mean the kind of argument where there’s shouting and possible inappropriate language during the heat of the moment? It’s been awhile since I’ve had one of those.
How long is your longest relationship? I’m assuming we’re talking about romantic relationships here–Three years.
What is something not many people know about you? There are a couple of things—and I’d like to keep it that way!
Two truths and a lie. Go. I am stumped. Moving on . . .
Do you believe in fate/destiny? Sometimes. I’ve had some things in my life happen where it’s seemed like the universe had everything lined up and in place for a particular outcome to occur.
Where is somewhere you’ve always wanted to live? San Francisco
Has there ever been a song that made you cry? Of course! Too many to list—I’m pretty sentimental about memories evoked by music. One song that doesn’t have a specific memory attached to it but just makes me cry in general is “The Good Stuff” by Kenny Chesney—there are a couple of lines in that song that do it to me every time–and I’m talking about “tears rolling down my cheeks” crying!
Do you jump/scare easily? Yes—if I’m involved in something I’m usually pretty focused and I tune out what’s going on around me.
Which birthday has been your favorite? I don’t even have to stop to think about this one. My 22nd birthday was the best. I’d just graduated from college two months beforehand. My five best college friends came for the weekend and we spent the time grilling out, playing silly games like croquet and badminton, going to the lake, and watching old movies. The day after they left I went on an interview, got my first “real job”, and started a whole new life chapter. I have great memories of that weekend.
Have you ever been pulled over? Arrested? I must admit I’ve been pulled over several times for speeding. I’ve never been arrested, but I’ve gotten tickets.
Have you ever been to a fortune teller? No—that kind of thing kind of freaks me out a little.
What’s your favorite series of books? I used to love the Faith Fairchild mystery series by Katherine Hall Page—the main character is a caterer in a small New England town. They are fun, light books with good mysteries and also some humor—and recipes! What could be better?
Who is someone that you think knows the most about you outside of family? I have a couple of girlfriends with whom I share pretty much everything.
What is the weirdest thing you’ve eaten? I don’t eat a lot of “weird”—I can’t think of anything. However, my grandfather used to tell stories about eating chocolate covered ants and caramel covered grasshoppers.
List one of your quirks. I have to have a clean kitchen before I go to bed.
State 1 bad habit of yours. Procrastination about things that I know are good for me—like exercise.
Has a scary movie ever given you nightmares? Scary movies have kept me awake at night, but I don’t recall any nightmares caused by them.
When was the last time you got your hair done in a salon? I get my hair cut in a salon about every two months. The last time I actually got my hair styled in a salon was years ago.
What was the last thing you did with your friends? Went out to lunch.
What’s something that you like to do that others might see as weird? I love to make lists—and I often put things on my lists that I’ve already done so I can have the satisfaction of crossing them off.
What was the last trip you took? I went to Sarasota last summer for a conference for work. Our hotel was right on the beach and it was lovely—unfortunately I was stuck inside in meetings most of the time.

I love books, reading, writing, cooking, eating, reading while eating, and sharing thoughts about all of the above–plus a bit more! I usually post about topics relating to books and literacy during the week, and then participate in a variety of non-bookish memes on the weekend. Please feel free to join in! Some random things about me– –I have multiple bookshelves in every room of my home except the bathroom. They’re all filled to bursting. They help to make my house my home. –I have two cats who I love dearly, but who I definitely do NOT dress in human clothing. Ever. –I’ve never had a cavity. –I make a mean spaghetti sauce. –I’m a newcomer to yoga and I love it. –My day is not complete without a little chocolate.

  1. Your 22nd birthday sounds absolutely wonderful.

  2. I thought I was the only one who put already done things on to-do lists just so I can cross them off. Makes me feel like I’ve really accomplished something. lol

  3. I’m not sure if I’ve read the Katherine Hall Page books or not, I’ll have to look them up. They sound like books I’d like!

  4. I’m the same way about the kitchen! I hate waking up to a mess in the kitchen so I have to have it cleaned before I go to bed. I read some of the Joanne Fluke cozy mysteries that that sounds similar. Fun, light little reads with a good murder mystery and recipes. I like books like that in between heavier reads. I have to have a list too but not to have the joy of checking things off. Just so that I can remember things these days! lol.
