Musing Mondays is a weekly meme hosted by MizB that asks you to muse about one of several “bookish” questions… or, you can just ramble on about anything you like that pertains to books! You can join in by clicking the graphic above. Go ahead–it’s fun!
Here’s my musing for this week–
One of the local used bookstores in my area is having a Labor Day Sale this holiday weekend—20% off everything in the store! On Saturday I decided that this was the perfect opportunity to finally take in the books I’d culled during my last book weeding session a couple of months ago, so I loaded up the backseat of my car in the morning and took them in. I dropped off 5 bags of books and showed a great deal of restraint by only purchasing five, so I viewed the trip as a complete success!
To make the morning even more bookish, I stopped off at the library on the way home to return some books and to pick up several more that were waiting for me on the hold shelf. (Bonus bookish experience–story time was ending just as I entered the library. I was surrounded by a flood of tiny readers who couldn’t wait to show their parents the bookish craft they’d just made. There just isn’t much that can make me happier than seeing children who are excited to be at the library!) When I got back home I had a full armload of books plus a few more, and to me that’s always such a great feeling—so many possibilities!
I spent the rest of the morning and early afternoon doing chores as quickly as possible—and then spent the late afternoon and evening reading. All in all, a wonderful bookish day!
How about you? Have you enjoyed a bookish day—or afternoon—or morning—recently? Please share!

I dedicated the last full day of my summer vacation to reading. I didn’t stress about getting my classroom ready, or any of the last-minute details that usually wind me up. It was a delicious day. 😉

That sounds like a great way to end your summer break! Good for you!

I haven’t, at the moment I grab a few pages here and there. And I seriously miss it! That’s the only reason I’m looking forward to the colder days 🙂

I’m not a big fan of winter, but one of the things I DO like about it is the excuse to stay inside and curl up under a quilt with a big book!

I haven’t enjoyed a bookish day in a long time, but one is coming up in October when I attend a local writers conference. I never leave without buying books. Sounds like you had a great time. Hope you enjoy your new books.

A writers conference is definitely a bookish way to send a day–or weekend–or however long. Enjoy!

It was raining the morning (I did the happy dance as we really needed it) so I decided to cuddle my cat and read. I love a day like this and so does TC (MY Cat).

A rainy day is the perfect excuse to stay inside with a book and a pet. . . and if you have some chocolate, even better!

What a wonderful bookish day you had on Saturday! When I lived in Arizona, I was about a three hour drive from a fabulous used bookstore, Bookman’s, in Flagstaff. It was always such a treat to make a day of it.

I’ve gone on “field trips” to bookstores with friends on occasion–so much fun to spend the day among books, talking about books, with friends who love books.

What a brilliant way to spend your day (except the necessary chores) There is a book sale coming up here this weekend so we’ll have to see how much willpower I have, not as much as yours I expect 😉

Ooohhh. . . another book sale! I bet you’ll find at least one treasure!
